MILLVILLE — In partnership with The Authority of Cumberland County, WheatonArts will present the 18th annual ECO Fair from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 3 on its campus.
The free family day event is inspired by natural and artful living. It will feature local gardening clubs, including Rutgers Master Gardeners, with various plants and herbs for sale, as well as handmade works by New Jersey artists, environmental organizations, nature trail tours, eco-friendly activities for families, and more. Admission to all WheatonArts exhibits and artist studio demonstrations is free and open to the public for the day as part of WheatonArts Family Days sponsored by PNC Arts Alive! ECO Fair is presented in partnership with The Authority of Cumberland County, CU Maurice River, and Rutgers Master Gardeners.
Rutgers Master Gardeners will host a plant sale of native flowers like milkweed, joe pye weed, and bee balm, plus native shrubs and more.
There will be a hands-on Herbal Healing Workshop from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Down Jersey Folklife Center. Guests will discover the incredible power of native plants and their traditional uses for wellness. Learn how to identify, grow, and use medicinal herbs like sage, mint, chickweed, wild bergamot and dandelion. Also, families can plant their own herbs, take home a tiny pot of planted medicinal herbs and start their healing garden.
There will be artist demonstrations throughout the day, including gnome carving, largescale murals, neon glassmaking, and weaving. Visitors can also enjoy The Magic of Recycling with Magician Bill Kerwood.
Free family art activities will include butterfly puppets, cardboard creatures and plant sketching.
In addition to live music, the fair, which is held rain or shine, will showcase more than 40 vendors. Visit wheatonarts.org
