A recent cloudy and cool day didn’t dampen Vineland Public School students’ enthusiasm as schools across the district joined forces to “Blow Bubbles for Autism Awareness.” Students, staff, parents, and volunteers blew bubbles for one minute at exactly 1:15 pm to raise awareness. Winslow Elementary School, which has the longest-running Bubble Day celebration in the district, had a playground packed with parents, staff, and students ready to blow bubbles. Winslow also added additional awareness and fun activities to celebrate and educate the students and community. Here, kindergarten teacher Sabrina Perry wisely saves her breath and uses a mechanical means in order to blow bubbles. Blow Bubbles for Autism is the brainchild of Isabelle Mosca, a Margate resident who heads an autism support network. When her son, Kyle, was diagnosed with autism and in preschool, she racked her brain to come up with activities that he could share with his classmates. That’s when she realized her son loved blowing bubbles.
