VINELAND — A PASTA PARTY benefit collection will be held 8:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Saturday, April 8 at 942 E. Grant Ave. Brothers Dominic and Sebastian Mercado will be collecting donated pasta and sauce (both canned and jarred) to help support the Spirit and Truth Ministries in Vineland, also known as the Vineland Soup Kitchen.
Dominic, a freshman at Cumberland County Technical Education Center in Vineland, decided three years ago to forgo his annual birthday party because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Dominic and his brother Sebastian a senior at CCTEC chose to have a pasta party fund-raiser instead. For those who can’t make it out in person, a GoFundMe page has been started for donations. It was also announced that a very generous donor, Paul Perino, Jr., is willing to match any funds raised up to $5,000. Collections have surpassed the halfway mark. The day will will also feature a visit from the Easter Bunny.
