Downe Township hosted its second annual Delaware Bay Plunge on Jan. 6 at the south end of the fishing beach in Fortescue. After the plunge, frigid participants had the opportunity to warm up and enjoy refreshments at the firehall. Those that entered the bay did so with water and air temperatures in the lower 40s and a spotty shower. Thanks go to the Station 39 dive team which provided safety personnel in the water. The event hosted more than 100 people and the Lawrence Township EMS ambulance crew was on standby.
