A LOCAL TOY DRIVE through will be held for a third year that will benefit families in Downe Township and surrounding communities in Cumberland County, as well as the Kids’ Center at the Downe Township Elementary School. Collection date is 6-8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 9 and 5-8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17 at 507 Church St. in Dividing Creek. New unwrapped toys and monetary donations will be accepted.

CHRISTMAS SING-ALONG featuring Wendy Gardner & Vineland Villagers Gospel Company will be hosted at 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17 at Union Hall, 904 Main St. in Dividing Creek. A free-will offering will be taken and there will be light refreshments.

DOWNE TOWNSHIP ELEMENTARY School will be closed for winter recess from Friday, Dec. 23 through Monday, Jan. 2. The school will reopen on Tuesday, Jan. 3.
