ALL PAPERWORK for the fall sports season at Myron L. Powell School will be due Friday, Sept. 1. Fall sports try-outs begin Monday, Sept. 11.
Boys and girls in fifth through eighth grade wishing to try-out for the varsity cross country, field hockey or soccer teams must have an up-do-date athletic physical on file and a completed permission. Students who have an up-to-date athletic physical may need a new health history questionnaire completed. Most of the forms needed to participated must be completed electronically. This includes permission slip, opioid abuse fact sheet, concussion head injury form, eye injury fact sheet, sudden cardiac arrest form and the health history questionnaire.

CEDARVILLE FIRE DEPARTMENT will host a trip to Sight & Sound to see “Miracle of Christmas” on Tuesday, Dec. 12. Cost of the trip is $199.99, includes motorcoach transportation, meal, show, shopping as time allows taxes, meal and driver gratuities. A deposit of $25 is required to reserve a spot with the balance due by Tuesday, Oct. 17. For information and reservations contact Kathy at 447-5122.

LAWRENCE TOWNSHIP Committee will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 14 at the Lawrence Township Municipal Building, 357 Main St., Cedarville. Future meeting dates are Sept. 11, Oct. 5, Nov. 13 and Dec. 11. For more information call 447-4554.

LAWRENCE TOWNSHIP Senior Center hours are 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday-Thursday. The center is located at 14 Mulford Ave., Cedarville. Activities and programs include: crafting days, bingo (usually once per month), Wii games, guest speakers on different subjects, games, monthly birthday parties, special outings and holiday lunches. A representative from the Cumberland County Office of Aging and Disabled Outreach is available on the fourth Tuesdays of the month at 11 a.m. to help seniors and disabled apply to various state programs that they are eligible for, and will also help fill out rebate forms. For assistance at other times, call 453-2220 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday.
Additionally, a nutrition program is held at noon Tuesday through Thursday. Diabetic meals are also offered. A donation of $2 is requested for each meal. Any county resident 60 or older an their spouse may participate. Those that wish to participate will need to call the senior center at least 48 hours in advance so that a meal can be ordered. Transportation is available by calling CATS (Cumberland Area Transit System) at 691-7799.

THE CEDARVILLE FIRE Department will be hosting a trip to Myrtle Beach, S.C. Sunday-Saturday, Oct. 8-14. The seven-day, six-night cost is $1,029 per person double occupancy and $1,348 single occupancy. A $50 deposit is required to reserve a spot. Package includes driver, tour guide and meal gratuities, six nights lodging, six breakfasts, four dinners, shows at the Carolina Opry and Alabama Theater, guided tour of Charleston, visits to Barefoot Landing and Broadway at the Beach and more. Deadline to sign up is Monday, Aug. 14 or until sold out.
