WASHINGTON, D.C. — Tax Day is being moved from April 15 to July 15, according to Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin. All taxpayers and businesses will have this additional time to file and make payments without interest or penalties. It was not immediately clear how the tax day move would change the extension process. As for taxpayers who are expecting a refund, they are encouraged to file now. They will receive their payments once the tax return is processed. According to IRS data through March 6, nearly 68 million Americans, nearly half of all filers based on previous years, have filed their taxes. And nearly 53 million Americans have received their refunds.
