The Forman S. Acton Educational Foundation has awarded each new Scholar with $40,000 to be used throughout their undergraduate college years. Tuition assistance is complemented by personalized academic and financial guidance from Foundation staff as a wrap-around approach to help Scholars navigate through the uncharted territory of higher education.
“This multi-layered, supportive program provides assistance and most importantly, advocates for each student as they face personal challenges and achieve major milestones. We look forward to celebrating the many successes that this group of students will experience during their college years and beyond,” comments Kathryn Markovchick, president of the Acton Foundation.
The new Scholars will begin receiving individualized guidance this fall as they embark on their final year of high school and solidify plans for where they will attend college. The Forman S. Acton Educational Foundation will be there every step of the way as these students continue to expand their knowledge and discover talents that will help change the world around them.
Forman S. Acton Educational Foundation Scholarship awards are available to students who attend Salem City High School and who meet certain academic and financial need requirements. Additional programs available through the Foundation include Acorn Fund college savings accounts for every child living or attending public school in Salem City as well as after-school, summer programming and early childhood initiatives.
