MILLVILLE — Rising Stars Dance Company in Millville earned its third consecutive national title at the National Dance Championships held recently in Wildwood. The competition featured dancers from around the country. The senior team placed first in both the hip hop and musical theatre divisions, took home the top overall score in the teen division, earned the top entertainment award and were nominated for the prestigious “Xcaliber” Award. The team then went on to compete in the Starbound National Talent Competition in Atlantic City where the group competed for a spot in the coveted Starbound Showcase and they did not disappoint. “It was a great moment for sure. This is a huge honor for us, and it was very rewarding to see the team’s hard work pay off,” said Shannon Nelson-Vallery (owner/director).
