The Revs. Gerritt and Anita Kenyon
HAPPY 60TH ANNIVERSARY! The Revs. Gerritt and Anita Kenyon, former pastors of the First Assembly of Millville for over 50 years, are celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary having been married in Springfield, Mo. May 29, 1954. Parents of four children, Dr. Howard and Kim Kenyon of Portland, Ore., Revs Wesley and Rebecca of Wyckoff, NJ, Rev. Esther and Dr. Ron Marcotte of Qualaquil, Ecuador, and Revs. Sharon and Thomas Baldwin of Hamburg, N.Y. They have been blessed with eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. The Kenyons, both served on national, state and sectional levels of the denomination, as well as community leaders. Anita was known for her Mother’s Day sermons and stories, organ TV music, religious teacher, and conducting VBS groups numbering 650. Together, they traveled around the world and back to Anita’s birth and youth place, Kumning, China. In retirement, Pastor Kenyon has served as host of daily Music That Matters WSNJ, as original chaplain of Millville Police Dept. and NJ Millville Motor Sports Park, chairman of Cumberland County Human Relations Commission, and more recently as a facilitator for a growing Seniors for Life Group meeting in the Millville First Assembly Fellowship Center. The retirees state “that they have enjoyed ministering to so many families.”
