The United Way recently wrapped up the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program, which uses IRS-trained volunteers to provide free tax prep to qualify local taxpayers. This year in Cumberland County, the U.W. program provided tax prep to nearly 700 clients, resulting in more than $700,000 in refunds.
