VINELAND — Meghan Moratelli, a sixth grade math teacher at Landis Middle School, was completely shocked when Principal Hope Johnson announced she was the Vineland Public Schools’ Teacher of the Year after luring her to the literacy lab under the pretext of a “student intervention.” The announcement, which was treated as a closely guarded secret, came off without a hitch before a group of about a dozen of Moratelli’s colleagues. Moratelli has been teaching at Landis Middle School for seven years.
