VINELAND — Cue the film. The Garden State’s only full-fledged drive-in movie theater is lifting the curtain on its 2020 season starting Friday, May 22.

The announcement comes more than two months after its original intended March 20 opening date, which has been delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Gov. Phil Murphy signed an executive order on May 13 that allows the drive-in to re-open. One of the more noticable changes that will be made due to the pandemic is limited admission. With two screens the drive-in can hold around a total of 575-600 vehicles, but for the time being there will be limited admission. And, tickets will only be sold electronically.

Concessions will only take orders through cell phones, an option that was previously in place. Patrons will receive a message when their order is ready. Pick up will be on the patio. In addition, bathroom capacity will also have limits and will be cleaned regularly.
