The recent International Hosta Convention which convened in Philadelphia included a Cumberland County treasure, the Russo Gardens in Cedarville. A group of more than 50 Hosta authorities converged on the garden located at 335 Factory Road where the Russo's collection of 2,000 varieties of Hostas (at last count) rests among native woodland. Two decades have passed as a waterfall, two ponds, hosta, daylilies, and many other shade-loving plants have rooted in the multi-acre Eden.Visitors came from across the country and abroad, including Belgium, Great Britain, Japan, and Russia. Cameras clicked, as those 'in the know' discussed rare varieties.
