Holly City Welcomes Bark Park

MILLVILLE — The city’s Thunderbolt Bark Park will officially welcome four legged friends beginning Sept. 18, according to the recreation department.

A celebratory grand opening ribbon cutting will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the Bark Park located Union Lake Park, 1414 Canal St.

Along with the grand opening the recreation department will be holding a Doggy Day event from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be dog vendors, a K9 demonstration, a painted rock hunt, music, food and more! Additionally, the first 100 dogs to enter the event will receive a goody bag from the recreation department.

The recreation department will also be hosting a dog contest. Registration will start at 12:30 p.m. and the show will begin at 1. Children, adults and seniors can enter any type of dog in the show. There is no entry fee. The categories are: Best Dressed Pet, Best Pet/Owner Look-A-Like, Best Trick, Best Vet (dogs over the age of 9), Most Precious Pup (dogs under the age of 1) and Top Dog.

Participants do not need to be a Millville resident to participate. For more information, contact the recreation department at 825-7000 ext. 7394.
