MASTER GARDENER Jan Capaldi and Viola Carson gave a talk on Growing and Using Gourds. Capaldi displayed her fabulous yet useful gourd bird houses, bowls and vases. During the meeting 30 members and guests witnessed the first master gardener in Cumberland County to reach the 1000 hour volunteer status. Joe Flannery, with Karen Schaar, MG president, received a gold name badge, a plaque and a gift card to Lee Valley. All gardeners 18 years old & up are invited to the 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 8 CCMGO meeting. The speaker will be Rutger's Sal Mangiafico. He will discuss storm water management and rain garden practices at the 4-H & Extension Education Center, 291 Morton Ave., Deerfield Township. Public is welcome and a $3 donation is requested.
