THE CUMBERLAND COUNTY Sheriff’s Office hosted a book drive called “Keeping the Mind of a Veteran Sharp” in February. Some of the donors included Freeholder Director Joe Derella and the Bridgeton Public Library. The book drive was very successful and the sheriff’s department donated 22 boxes full of books to the Veteran’s Memorial Home in Vineland. The books were delivered on May 21. During this time of COVID-19, in order to maintain the health and safety of all residents at the Veteran’s Memorial Home, the residents have been quarantined to limited areas in the building and at this time there are no planned activities allowed. Therefore, the books were delivered during a time of need and allows the residents to enjoy reading. Above, from left: Officer Erica Quinones, Undersheriff Vincent Solazzo and Sheriff Robert Austino.
