Delight in Bay Atlantic Symphony Orchestra’s “Into the Liquid Bach and Tchaikovsky.” Appealing to new listeners and classical music enthusiasts alike, the concert kicks off with Into the Liquid, a work of ravishing colors by highly-acclaimed contemporary African American composer J. Kimo Williams. Johann Sebastian Bach’s immortal Double Concerto showcases the Symphony’s own Concertmaster Ruotao Mao and Principal Second Violinist Genaro Medina. Also in the Bach’s Double Concerto, Music Director Jed Gaylin will trade his baton for the harpsichord, a Baroque keyboard instrument that acts like a rhythms section. The final piece, Tchaikovsky’s Souvenir de Florence, is originally written for sextet. In this virtuosic rendition for the whole string section the orchestra digs in with the passion and vigor the piece demands. Buy tickets online at bayatlanticsymphony.org.
