CASA of Cumberland, Gloucester and Salem Counties is hosting its second annual 5K Superhero Run/Walk to benefit the more than 1,250 abused and neglected children in the local community. The 5K is planned for 9 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 20 at Cumberland County College. A Kids 1K Walk/Run kicks off at 10:15 a.m. CASA of CGS is a local organization that recruits and trains community volunteers to provide services to those children in order to help them find safe and permanent homes. The cost to participate is $25 ($20 for students, $50 for families up to six members). All monies go to support CASA of CGS in an effort to provide more advocates for children in foster care.
